Biography

My name is Sylvain ALENDE. I am French, hold a Chemical Engineer degree as well as a Master degree in Supply Chain (SC) management.

I have been living in Asia for more than 10 years now.

In 2007, I was sent to south China as SC Manager for an assembly plant of a French company in the rechargeable battery business. From end 2010, I moved near Shanghai to join Schneider Electric, the specialist in Energy Management. Electronic SC is a key part and I was managing the upstream part of the chain for critical components. A couple of years later, we engaged the Collaborative Planning (Co-planning) program with Critical Suppliers. I was leading the deployment in China and South-East Asia, engaging Tier1 and Tier2 partners into a more anticipative process to deal with demand uncertainty and balance demand/supply in a more efficient manner.

In 2014, I relocated to Singapore as part of a scope extension to a more global role, joining the Central Planning function of Schneider Electric. From 2016 on, following the successful launch of the Co-planning with Key Customers program, I switched focus from upstream to downstream SC and got closer to our main distributors. I became Business Process Owner and I have also been supporting the worldwide deployment.
